Overall Aim.
November 2006- May 2007.
To develop a range of teaching strategies and resources using web-based webcams.
How will I achieve this?
Each week over the research period, attempt to develop the use of a webcam/s into a lesson.
Ensure the use of the webcam/s varies, topic, perspective, issue, place, in order to offer a range of uses and applications.
Ensure the use of the webcam/s is integral to a part of the lesson.
Develop a range of teaching strategies for use with the webcam/s chosen, focusing on generic strategies, that have cross-topic/place/perspective/issue application.
Evaluate the webcam/s used, teaching strategies and resources devised.
Investigate the use of webcams by fellow colleagues in the geographical community.
How will I share practice?
Setting up of a reflective journal Blog, to post webcams links, teaching strategies, developed resources/activities/strategies and their subsequent evaluation.
Set up a delicious account to save and share links to appropriate webcams.
Host resources developed via Radical Geography.
Share practice via geographical sites/forums and encourage fellow colleagues to share their own practice and ideas.
(Potential writing up of research for G.A. website, Teaching Geography, or delivery of inset via G.A. conference etc, in collaboration with other group members.)
